Christmas Symphony Concert

As a special Christmas outing Brent got 3rd row seats at Powell Symphony Hall for the girls and I. We went to see Michael W. Smith -- one of my favorite singers!! We decided to really make a night of it for the girls, so we first took them out to eat at the historic Lincoln Jug. I used to go there for Christmas meals with my family when I was a little girl. Powell Symphony Hall is gorgeous at Christmas and the girls were completely "wowed" by how beautiful it was. After we ooohhed and aaahhed over the decorations we went into our seats for the show. I tell you what, 3rd row center is one of the best seats in the house. We could see every facial expression and every line on Michael W. Smith's face. The music was fantastic (we even got to hear a bagpipe player!) and the whole night was magical for the girls. I loved watching their wonder and delight over it all.

Trixie's Christmas recital

Trixie Lu loves ballet -- especially the recitals! Trixie just loves to be on stage (diva is the word that comes to mind) and she got a chance to do that this Christmas season. She had the best time up there on stage and danced her heart out. Even out in the audience it was obvious what a great time she was having. She is the dark haired dancer on the far right in my pictures and I think she stole the show!

Oooooh!

Henry's so cute and believe it or not he's also very obedient. Lydia, Trixie Lu, and I made some Christmas goodies to give their teachers for a treat. Henry didn't want to miss out on the fun so he ran and got a stool so he could see what was up on the counter. I saw him eyeing the goods so I quickly belted out, "No, no Henry! No touch!!" By golly, Henry did not even try to touch the candy. He just stood there saying "Ooooh!" over and over. The look on his face tells me that he is going to love eating that candy someday.

Crazy Kid!

You better not take your eyes off of Henry even for a second because you just never know what he might do. The other night I was getting bedtime routines started for the 3 kiddos. While Henry's bath water was running I looked over at Lydia and Trixie and told them what they needed to do while I gave Henry a bath. While I was doing that Henry silently walked behind me and went ahead and got into the bathtub -- FULLY CLOTHED!! Crazy kid!!!

Henry's Adoption Party

On Saturday, Nov. 6, we celebrated Henry's adoption with a Korean party! We are fortunate that we live in an area that has several adoptive families so I invited them plus a few other friends and family members. Since Henry was on his way to becoming an American I wanted to honor his Korean roots and give everyone a little taste of some of the Korean food that I had enjoyed so much on my trips to Korea. Many children wore hanboks, there was a lot of Korean food, and Lydia, Trixie and I even performed a song for Henry. Then we showed the video Brent had made for Henry's first birthday and it was fun to see how excited Henry got when he saw himself on the screen. Poor Brent and his mom came down with that terrible stomach flu the morning of the party so they were banned from the party. :( Brent made one brief appearance at the party because I desperately wanted a family picture from the day. I made him promise not to touch or breathe on anybody. I have tons of pictures from the party ~ enjoy! (I'm wondering if any of my bloggy friends or dear friends in Korea recognize some of these people and children.)

Where did the time go?

Yikes!! With the holidays and some family trips it seems that I've blinked and 2 months have gone by! Our family has been busy living, having fun and making memories. Henry is changing at lightning speed and he is such a dear boy. Our girls have shot up and grown so sweet in the blink of an eye. I want to share what we've been up to, so I'm going to go back to where I left off right before Thanksgiving. I'm going to enjoy this little walk down memory lane. :)
