We finally have our travel arrangements all made. We went back and forth on how long to stay in Seoul. We have decided on a week. We leave this Thursday and return the following Thursday. Brent called Korean Air and we got the adoption discount and we're pleased with that.
Next we needed a hotel because the Eastern Guesthouse is full. :( I was hoping to stay there again, but since Seoul is such a huge city finding another place would be a piece of cake. Wrong!! After doing a lot of research to find the right hotel for us Brent discovered the hotel was full. So were the next 2 that he tried. Then our friends Jill and Vanessa gave us a link to a great guy who could help us find affordable hotels (hotels are really expensive in Seoul). The hotels that he tried to book for Brent were all full. Crazy!! How could all these hotels be full? Turns out that April is peak travelling time in Seoul. By now we're pretty nervous. It's 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday night and we don't have a hotel room booked and we leave very early on Thursday morning. This man, Philip, had one last reservation he was trying to confirm for us. We got an email at 11:30 p.m. that the hotel was full. Yikes! But we found out that Philip had found us a room at Somerset Palace for just a little more than we wanted to pay. I am so relieved!! We have a place to stay and we don't have to pay hundreds of dollars per night to keep it. Turns out that Eastern recommended Somerset Palace to another family who is travelling at the same time as us and we'll all get to stay together. How funny! This does look like a really nice place to stay. :)
My suitcase is packed and I'm ready. If only Brent could say the same ...

So excited for you Lisa! We stayed at the Somerset (when we traveled as a family). Feel free to ask me any questions! It was a nice place to stay and we loved the location right next to Insadong! :) Safe travels!!!
Brent will get his suitcase in order tonight. I assure you. By the way, the discount I got for the one Korean Airlines ticket had nothing to do with adoption. It was just a special thing they were doing but they only had one of them left so I couldn't get it for both of us. Still saved us almost $300 though, so I'll take it. I'd tell more about it, but I couldn't understand the lady very well.
Have a great trip Lisa! I can't wait to hear about it!
I'm glad that travel details are falling into place for you. It's wonderful that you will be with Henry very soon... and have him home with your family in just over a week! Safe travels and have a wonderful time!
Congratulations! That's a little scary that it may be difficult to find a place to stay. So glad you found somewhere nice and affordable. Prayers for a safe and wonderful trip to finally have your baby in your arms!
