We're Home!!!

Sorry I didn't post last night when we got home. I sat down to do it and I woke up and hour later with my computer still open and on my lap and a sore neck. I decided I wouldn't make it through and that I'd better go to bed!

I must say that the flight went extremely well -- way better than I'd prepped myself for. Henry was happy and playful, he also slept, he ate tons of snacks (thank you Mr. & Mrs. Song for the bag of snacks and cheese!) and he did have his fussy times, but not too bad for someone who was cooped up in an airplane with people he'd been with for less than 24 hrs! One surprise blessing was that we had a strong tailwind and the flight was about 1 hour shorter than normal! Another surprise blessing was that the young man next to us loves kids and let Henry Joon Seong climb all over him and play with his computer. We had been warned many times about Henry's stranger anxiety, but I'm telling you he doesn't know a stranger. He walks up to kids and hugs them and goes up to adults, especially men, and holds his arms up to be held. Sometimes on the plane I wished he'd be more
content with me holding him instead of always trying to jump into someone else's arms. Oh well, he'll get there!

The homecoming was great!!! We had family and close friends meet us and they turned it into a little party. The only person you don't see in these pictures is the elusive Jill Biehl,

the planner of it all. Thanks, Jill!! :) Henry Joon Seong was way more social than I thought he'd be and let others hold him and went right along with his sisters wherever they took him. I do know, however, that underneath that he was scared to be in a place where nobody looked the same to him anymore. If Brent or I got out of his line of sight panic took over.
We went home(it was about 2:30 p.m.) and I thought Henry Joon Seong would want a bottle and nap. He took the bottle, but he just wanted to explore. He went all over and picked up, carried, and dropped everything in sight. It was as if a tornado had come through right behind him. All my friends with boys who have been warning me how different boys are from girls are laughing at me and saying "I told you so!" Henry Joon Seong was a

trooper. At supper in his high chair he could finally stay awake no longer. He ate quite a bit, and then I looked at him and he had fallen asleep in about 1 second. Poor boy, he'd had quite a day! He actually went to sleep in his crib at 8:15 p.m. and didn't wake up until 5:40 a.m. I think that is fabulous!!
Henry Joon Seong is a fantastic, delightful little boy and I have to give a lot of credit to his foster parents, Mr. & Mrs. Song. I think they are a big reason he is a happy, friendly boy who is also a great eater, and sleeps in a crib (they had him in a crib in their apartment). They also have given us tons of pictures and videos. I love to see them, but even more, I think that they will mean a lot to Henry as he gets to be a teenager and adult. They started Henry Joon Seong's life off in a wonderful way, and I pray that we can continue to do as great a job as they did.
Yay!! Henry's home!!!!!

I'm so glad you posted! I've been wondering how you all were doing. It sounds like everything is going wonderfully! I love the picture of Henry holding hands and walking with his sisters. I can't believe the poor little guy fell asleep in the high chair (although that picture is so adorable!). Parker also slept that first "night" home and ended up adjusting to our time zone right away. Oh, and we're also learning all about the differences between boys and girls - fun yet messy! :) So happy for you!!!
