Henry absolutely loves to go walking outside and when he's fussing being outside magically makes him happy. Two families on our cul-de-sac have dogs. Henry is mesmerized by the dogs. He just stands and stares and watches them. The dogs come right over and bark at us, but Henry is not scared. I have to wonder if he ever saw dogs up close in Korea. I get the idea that not many people over there own dogs for pets.
I must brag for just a minute! I have been doing a few signs with Henry ever since we got him in Korea. I've been doing milk, drink, eat, and more. Well, day before yesterday he made the "more" sign himself!!! He was eating some applesauce (which seems to be one of his favs) and desperately wanted some more and he made the sign instead of reaching and grunting. I was so excited!! I started clapping for him and then he started clapping. He has been using that sign regularly ever since. I really thought it would be quite a while before Henry Joon Seong made any signs on his own.
Here's another little interesting thing Brent and I have noticed. Ever since we brought Henry home he has slept all night through in his crib every other night. The off nights he wakes up for a bottle and then won't return to his crib. We've also given Henry a bath every other night (the nights he's slept straight through). We're wondering if maybe taking a bath helps him to sleep all night, so tonight we did an experiment. Even though we gave Henry a bath last night, we gave him another one tonight and are curious to see if he'll sleep through the night. If he does -- you guessed it!-- he gets a bath every night! Here's hoping...
A couple last quotes to leave you with. Lydia is always telling Henry how much she loves him and that's what she tells other people, too. Trixie, however, has some other thoughts. Here's an interchange between her and a family friend:
Friend: Trixie, Henry's home and you get to keep him, right?
Trixie: Yeah, FOREVER! (the voice inflection did not make is sound all that great)
Friend: What do you think of Henry?
Trixie: He gets into my stuff and decorations all the time!

What a great first week! Henry is such a smiley little guy - I'm sure he'll win over Trixie very soon! I hope the bath experiment worked. :)
I'm so glad that things are going well. I think my Timothy is going to be a bit like your Trixie, but probably not as nice. Praying for his transition a lot! =)
It sounds like Henry is having a great adjustment! I love the smiling happy photos. :)
Sounds like he's doing awesome! Big hugs to Trixie - it's hard to have a new baby and immediately the baby is getting into everything. I'm looking forward to hearing how the bath experiment worked.
love your updates! keep it up...as i said Max was 8 1/2 months when he came home and Julia was still not happy that he was here... it does take time and i'm sorry to say that she still says that Max is in her stuff and she doesn't like it!!! Let me know if giving her the big helper jobs helps :) let us know when you are ready for a playdate!
My heart goes out to Trixie.
It seems like she has a rough time having a baby brother. it is quite normal, but very challenging for her because she was a baby a week ago...
Big hug to her.
Thanks so much for the updates Lisa! You look soooo happy!
